Importing Address Book From Outlook Express, see below

Those of you who have been given your email address and password by me can now access your email account via the following url: https://1rtr.net/webmail/ This screen looks like this:

Screen 1

Once here, you need to enter your complete email address in the first section then the password I will have passed to you in the second, tick the little box, you should then have access to your email account where you can alter options and passwords etc to your own liking.

Screen 2

The option on the screen that you want is NEOMAIL. But you can also use HORDE or SQUIRREL. The latter being a very basic email system if you do not like all the frills that go with it. You will be asked initially to do a little setup, its a doddle and takes about 45 seconds. You could even attach a forwarder enabling any emails to you@1rtr.net to go into another email account. But, to all intents and purposes, you will only be known by your 1rtr email account. It will also, if all take it up, enable me to remove the rtr email contact page from the web site. Once you have your 1 rtr email setup, if you wish it, ask me to remove you from the contacts page in the main site. Just sent a test message to my 1rtr.net account, it worked perfectly.

When I pass you your email address it must be typed exactly as I have written it. If, when your settled in, you change your password please REMEMBER it. To change a lost password can be done although you will have to send me a message asking for it to be changed AND wait until I get around to it, I may be at work. Setting up a new email account in a new environment can be a bit touch and go sometimes. I was a bit iffy when I first set up in my account. If any of you have any problems, please contact me via pm or email and I will sort it out for you. You can phone me if you wish on 07904 546676 in "normal hours". Basically, follow the on screen instructions and TAKE YOUR TIME.  Mine is up and running and looks like this: (Colours are customer changeable):

Screen 3

I placed a shortcut to my email page on my desktop and just checked all my mail in double quick time, much faster than Outlook Express. YES!! Now we're suckin' diesel!!! Once again. my thanks to Joey Moses and to Vinu for writing the program at http://www.realwebhost.net .......

Importing Address Book From Outlook Express

Thanks to Derek Atherton for raising this problem. The following is MY solution, and it worked:

1. Into Outlook Express and clicked on File (top left) and "Export" then "address book"

2. Highlight "Text File (Comma Separated Values)" Then clicked "Export"

3. Click on "Browse" and go to "My Documents" (or wherever you keep letters).

4. Give it a file name eg: address (.csv should show also in window as you type)

5. Click next and ignore selections, waste of space unless YOU have then all filled in.

6. Finish and the pretty blue line goes left to right and then it tells you that the file has been successfully exported. Close file.

Open Neomail

7. Go to email page and click on address book, the open paged symbol.

8. Click on edit address book.

9. Leave Outlook Express (unless your using netscape) pinned and click on "Browse" and find the file in "my docs"

10. Then Click on "Import" - job done
