It's almost 20 years since Blink was killed in a RTA when we were at Bovington. I will always remember him filling up a Spartan at the POL point and diverting the fuel into Jerry cans inside the vehicle for his journeys to Yorkshire. 20 years, so long ago but it seems like only yesterday.

ran BOVINGTON until some mong stole a bridge layer!!!

Funnily enough I was driving back from visiting my daughters in Skegness when I thought of Blink - how mad is that - then I signed on here and low and behold he appears!!

Good laugh old blink but is it really so long ago since old SETH passed on!!

was a good mining village Yorkshireman - went to his funeral along with lots of others - Any one know what happened to his wife? she remained in Hereford for a while then lost contact.

RIP Blonk - Bovvy Hop nights were good mate - remember them.....

I well remember Blink on his arrival to 'A' Sqn.Asslt. great bloke and great sense of humour a real Tyke! and yes he certainly looked like Seth.

I remember Blink in Bovvy and his accident, but as to you running Bovvy, I don't. I do remember taking a mong after a bridge layer as duty driver, sorry, the mong took the bridge layer to BasingstokeStill remember Blink and tiny trying to chat up anything in a skirt

Last Sunday I was in a pub called the Kings Head on Heath Common in Wakefield - not far from Marty lawsons palace, went into one of the little snug rooms with old gas lamps and a coal fire, just had a nice pint of real ale, 4 tables in this little room and on the next to us was a fella wearing a Ypres polo shirt - his wife went to the toilet and i said to him have you been there and he said he had been there 3 times. We got talking and I said I was taking a party over in 2007 to Cambrai via Ypres and other battlefield areas, he said he had a friend in the 1st royal tank regiment who used to celebrate Cambrai - my ears pricked up and he said you wouldnt know him he died over 20 years ago, I said I was in the regiment then and what was his name - Blink ward was his reply - I then explained he was a friend of mine and that i had been at his funeral and how he was still talked about today! I asked if he ever heard anything from Carol and he said no, he also said that Blinks mam and dad were supposed to be with them for a meal but his mum still cannot get over his death even after all this time. Some of the lads stopped at this guys house both for Blinks wedding and again for his funeral but he culdnt remember there names. The guy got up and went. weird or what - I had only gone to the pub for a pre sunday dinner pint - brought back memories.

PS Levi - there was only one guy who ran Bovvie and that was ME (except when I was on sales trips with ATDU when I left it in Tiny's capable hands) ok.
