Paul.
Mick Kay is on the RUC memorial. he was killed in Newry in 1985 (click on RUC which is amongst the army regiments). If I'm not mistaken there is a picture of Mick in galleries 1 on a winter patrol of the inner german border (just under the first ever picture of hendo smiling!!.). Mike? maybe you arrange for it to be the next picture on the main page?.
For those who never knew Mick he left the regiment and settled in Ulster and joined the RUC.

Mick Kay was killed as a patrol he was in was returning to the main Police station in Newry centre. Debussing to cover the immediate area as the gates were opened they were subject to a mortar attack. Passed through Newry numerous times in the last few yearsand always thought of Mick as i passed the Police stn. A fine bloke doing what he could to help the community.

I didn't realise Mick had been killed, let alone joined the RUC. He was a thoroughly nice guy who always gave the appearance of being laid-back but had a sharp brain when the situation dictated. RIP Mick.

Lads.
I too did not realise Mick Kay had passed away, this is truely a sad day for me. Me and Mick were pretty damn tight friends in Osnatraz, ran the mess together, and believe or not,got drunk a few times together. This is the first time I''m cracking open a beer for a lost friend and crying at the same time.
Mick, here''s to you FRIEND, and cheers. R.I.P.Mate. :(

I think a page on mike alone would be appropriate
as well as geordie parkes
All good men in their own ways
A lifetime in the Army married a nice lady and then that happens - shit aint it.
I remember mick for his singing in the corporals mess and looking after me in MT where I resided for a while.
RIP old mate
