Sorry to bring the untimely and sad news of the death of Dave Flett aged 60 on the 10th of September 2004.

Dave died of a burst artery in his abdomen, he had just been given the all clear and had beaten bowel cancer - the medical authorities at three hospitals said it was a side effect of the chemo treatment that was causing him pain and his widow Anne was trying to get him some urgent medical attention when he died.

Anne is now suing the medical authorities as this could have been avoided.

I have spoken to Anne and she has had a really rough time having just had breast cancer herself and her daughter has just got over skin cancer of the ear.

I have passed on our condolences to her and she is happy for Daves friends to ring her, she is quite alone at the moment and would appreciate us talking about Dave and his past.

her number is 0191 4135098

R.I.P Dave, sad case of affairs again. Sorry but the NHS are on a tight budget. Goverment comes to mind. Lack of funds again. To busy spending it else where. Immigrants pop into my head.

So sorry this happened. My sincere condolancies Anne.

Thanks for the phone call Paul, sad news. Me and Dave (along with Capt Seymour) ran the Omagh Ops very successfully. It makes my blood boil to hear of another NHS screwup.

Another good guy departs due to the incompetence of others, what a sad episode and Dave will be missed by all who knew him. My fondest memory of Dave was in Osnabruck when me and Dinger bought a car but could not afford to run it so we decided to 'borrow' some benz from the compound on the tank park - just as we were in the process of throwing a couple of cans over the fence into the car boot Dave saunters round the corner as duty sgt - he smiled wryly at us and casually mentioned that benz had been going missing from the compound and if anyone saw us near there they may draw the wrong conclusions - he smirked again and walked away - what a let off - THANKS DAVE, YOU WERE A GENT! RIP friend.
