My name is David Rigby and my brother Alan and I were in 9 Troup Honer in MB4 Block like you. I shared a room with Bill and we had many happy times together in C Squadron Bar. Do you remember?
After I left the army in 1971 I kept in touch for a while and also knew his wife Peggy. We lost touch and unfortunately when I rang his number I had the sad news that he had died of cancer on 8 May 1985 aged 40 years.
I visited the grave in Wigan and took a photograph of the gravestone. Bill is buried with his father. Would you like to see a copy of the photo? I can either e-mail it to you personally or to the RTR web page.
If you wish to contact me my e-mail address is (see membership lists - mk)
Hoping to hear from you
